Editorials

Two local editorials to make you think. I know both of these gentlemen.

The first is about Terri Schiavo
The Herald-Mail ONLINE: "Let parents assume care"

The second is about the spread of HIV/AIDS. Something needs to be done. Telling kids how to have sex in 6th grade with condoms is not a good starting point. (which I think I will start to call "Condemns for Kids"). There is no surer way to increase all the STD's then to tell kids to think sex first. Instead of Abstinence which is more likely for them to have a healthy childhood/college time.

The Herald-Mail ONLINE: "HIV victims need compassion, tattoo"

You may or may not agree with the second part, but we definately need to talk honest about HIV.

It is time to take the threat of HIV seriously. A compassionate and serious solution must preserve the dignity of those infected while truly helping to prevent the spread of the disease in an effective way.

God bless Terri Schiavo in this time of need and give her parents strength.
